America's handmade rug store — straight from the loom.
We are a family of weavers who decided to skip the showroom. Every rug we sell is hand-made by our own master artisans in India and shipped direct to your door — so you get heirloom craft at an honest price.
Maker and store, under one roof.
A handmade rug usually passes through importers, distributors and a showroom before it reaches you — and every hand takes its cut. We are the loom and the storefront, so you pay for the rug and the artistry, and nothing in between.
Made by our own hands
Hand-knotted, hand-tufted and flat-woven by master weavers our family has worked with for four decades — not bought from a faceless wholesaler.
Honest, maker-direct prices
No middlemen and no showroom markup. The price reflects the rug and the craft behind it — the way it should.
Free shipping, dispatched fast
Every order ships free across America and leaves us within 24 hours, carefully rolled and protected for the journey.

Through Thread of Hope we invest in fair wages, schooling for weavers' children, and independent work for women artisans.

Shop all rugsTwo Sides of the Same Business
GetMyRugs exists because of a straightforward frustration with how the rug industry usually works: real manufacturing knowledge sitting on one side of the world, and real customers sitting on the other, with layer after layer of importers, distributors, and showroom markups in between. We closed that gap by becoming both sides of the equation ourselves — the weavers and the retailer, under one roof, selling directly to the people who'll actually walk on the rug.
Forty Years Before We Had a Website
Forty years of manufacturing history sits behind every piece we sell today. Long before GetMyRugs existed as a customer-facing brand, our family had already spent decades running looms in India, perfecting the hand-knotting, hand-tufting, and hand-weaving techniques that still define our catalog. We didn't start as a retailer who later found a supplier — we started as the supplier and built the retail experience around that existing expertise.
When GetMyRugs launched as a direct-to-consumer brand in 2016, the goal was simple: let American households buy directly from the source, at prices that reflected genuine production cost rather than a chain of intermediary margins. That's still the single biggest reason our prices across wool, silk, and jute rugs consistently undercut comparable handmade pieces sold through traditional import showrooms.
Standing Behind Our Own Work
Quality control matters enormously to us specifically because we're not just selling a rug someone else made — we're standing behind our own family's work. Every piece that leaves our looms, hand-knotted, hand-tufted, or hand-woven, passes through the same inspection process a family business applies when its own name and reputation are directly on the line.
Our relationships with weaving families run deeper than a typical supplier arrangement, too. We've worked with many of the same households across multiple generations, so specific techniques, regional motifs, and natural dyeing methods have been preserved within a stable, ongoing partnership. You can read more about how that partnership works, and how it gives back to those families, on our Thread of Hope page.
What Direct Manufacturing Means (and Doesn't)
Because we control production ourselves rather than simply selecting from a distributor's catalog, we're able to offer genuine variety across style, construction, and material that a pure retailer typically can't match.
If you're curious about the specific techniques behind our rugs, our Weaving Techniques page walks through the entire process, including the six stages every rug passes through before it ships.
It's worth being transparent about what this direct-manufacturer model does and doesn't mean. It doesn't mean every rug is custom-made from scratch — most pieces are produced in advance across our standard size and color range, the same way most established rug companies operate. What it does mean is that the entire chain from raw fiber to finished rug happens within relationships our family controls and has built over decades, rather than being sourced opportunistically from whichever factory offers the best rate that year.
Frequently asked questions
How long has GetMyRugs been making rugs?
The manufacturing side goes back around forty years, to 1979, running looms in India across hand-knotting, hand-tufting and hand-weaving. GetMyRugs launched as a direct-to-consumer brand in 2016 — so the website is relatively recent, but the production behind it is not.
Does buying direct mean every rug is made to order?
No, and it's worth being clear about that. Most pieces are produced in advance across our standard size and color range, which is what makes 24-hour dispatch possible — a hand-knotted rug woven from scratch takes months. What direct manufacturing changes is the pricing and the accountability, not the lead time.
Who actually inspects the rugs?
We do, at our own facility, as the final stage before a rug is approved to ship. Each piece is checked for knot density consistency, color accuracy against the original design, and structural integrity. Because we're inspecting our own family's work rather than a supplier's, there's no one else to pass a problem along to.
An Invitation, Not a Sales Pitch
Every purchase, at any price, ships free and dispatches within 24 hours, backed by a full 30-day return window. If you have questions about our history, our process, or a specific rug, our Contact page connects you directly with our customer care team, available around the clock.
If you're the kind of shopper who genuinely cares where a product comes from and how the people who made it are treated, we think our history holds up to that scrutiny. If you're simply looking for a beautiful, well-made rug at a fair price without needing the fuller backstory, that's completely fine too — either way, the same forty years of manufacturing standards apply.
